When a good friend from church asked if my company could handle a brochure for his brother's brokerage on Wall Street, my answer was "Sure."
So, in my early career, I was invited to the floor of the Stock Exchange and all around it, taking photos of his seven brokers who were traders on the floor. This was less than a year after 9/11, and security had multiple layers of armed guards and Jersey barriers around the whole perimeter. We had an escort inside all day.
This project showed me that I should never let anything limit my horizons that is within the scope of my ability to pull off well.
We ended up delivering a quality piece that elevated their firm in the industry.
In the following years, many more brochures and all types of collateral were added to our offerings.
